One of my projects.

I have been going to the thrift store here in Vineyard Haven, I call it the Chicken Coop. I found several bundles of wool clothing that had been disasembled, cut up and some even dyed over the exsisting patterns. I bought them and decided to make a quilt out of the pieces. In my 2nd year at VCU, I was in a class called intro to crafts. One of the classes we were shown a film on the quilts of Gee's Bend. Since then I've wanted to make a quilt with them in mind, so here it is. It's a combination of machine and hand stitching. The whole thing only cost about $5 to make and I still have enough material to make another, or somthing. This is aphoto of me stiching on the binding, its a cell phone photo. Shot of finished quilt coming soon.
